2013 Expo

On Tuesday 15 October, we proudly celebrated our fourth Salesian College Expo. It was a marvellous occasion which enabled the community to bear witness to the great work that our boys and teachers produce in the classroom. The various departments put on some wonderful displays and activities which were authentic representations of what is actually happening here on a day to day basis. We have been acutely conscious of the need to be honest and faithful in terms of ensuring that what is seen at Expo is what actually happens in our school. Debates, demonstrations, displays, a variety of musical items, experiments and the like added to the vitality of the evening. The Design Show was, once again a great highlight with some truly arresting pieces of work on display. Artist and Hollywood film director, Shaun Wilson, returned to his old school and gave an inspirational address which focused, in part, on the value of the board education he received when he was a student at the College. Many boys generously gave of their time to assist with presentations, displays, music, experiments, tours and so on and so forth. I would like to thank the fantastic support we had from the Parents Association and the many families who supported the event – this is very much appreciated. I would also like to thank the staff of Salesian College for making the Expo Night such a successful event. In particular, our Heads of Department and the IT and Maintenance Teams are to be congratulated for their superb efforts as do our Publications and Communications Officer (Ms Suzie McErvale) and our Registrar (Mrs Mary Menz).
