2015 NAPLAN Testing

The Year 7 and Year 9 boys will undertake the annual NAPLAN tests which will be conducted at the College on 12-14 May.

The tests provide valuable data relating to literacy and numeracy standards at national, state, school and individual student levels.  The tests are carefully devised and are assessed by external examiners.  Results will be released to families and schools in September via the Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority.  They are compulsory for all boys with the exception of a small number of students who may be exempted following discussions between families and our Head of Learning Support, Ms Carmel Meehan.

Preparation for the Tests
The various tests assess fundamentally important skills which have been developed over the course of many years. The boys will receive a briefing about the nature and the format of the tests during the week prior to the tests. Further, each test commences with a comprehensive introduction and a set of practice questions. Should boys or parents wish to view sample NAPLAN tests these are available at the following website: http://www.nap.edu.au/naplan/the-tests.html

Consequently, boys should regard the NAPLAN tests as a challenge which they can approach confident in their ability to give of their best and to do well. The College wishes our boys all the very best for the upcoming NAPLAN tests.
