‘A Plastic Ocean’ Screening

On behalf of Salesian College Chadstone, the Year 9 Biretta Class will be hosting a Screening Night of the documentary ‘A Plastic Ocean’ on Thursday 16 November from 7:00pm to 9:30pm in the Auditorium. As well as screening the critically acclaimed documentary, the night will also feature speeches from our students and special guests.

‘A Plastic Ocean’ follows the journey of journalist Craig Leeson, who teamed up with an international team of scientists and researchers to explore the fragile state of our oceans, uncovering alarming truths about plastic pollution. He reveals potential solutions that can be put into immediate effect.

For many weeks, our Year 9 Biretta class has spent hours of class time preparing for this screening. We hope that all students (especially those in our Year 7, 8 and 9 Biretta classes), their families, members of staff and our community attend this special event.

We hope to inform and educate our community about the detrimental effects of our society’s overuse of plastic. If we don’t all do our part to stop plastic pollution, it is possible that our oceans won’t be there for future generations to enjoy, as we have. Securing the health of our oceans should be a priority for all of us, and we hope we are able to inspire you to do your part in making a ‘wave of change’ in our society.
