ACC Public Speaking Championship

On November 13 2017, Catholic Schools from all across Victoria entered the grounds of St Bernard’s College to participate in the ACC Public Speaking Championship. Four featured speakers, including myself, Tom Ison, Ashleigh Curry and Xavier Adams represented our school in Division One Public Speaking. Each of us talked about unique topics; varying from Ned Kelly, to the abolishment of the death penalty, to humanity’s next greatest adventure, followed by an impromptu round. Our speakers addressed their own speeches with a variety of expressions and gestures. As we were all anxious as to what the day would hold, the outcome was considered a great success, as Salesian totalled 305 points, making us the winner of the ACC event! We are immensely proud to represent the school in such a way. My team and I would like to thank all the teachers who supported us, including Mr Marley for taking care of us and transporting us on the day, and Ms Capomolla for giving us the opportunity to compete, as well as helping us deliver our speeches to such a great standard.
