Instrumental Music Program

At Salesian College Chadstone, we offer our students the opportunity to participate in the Instrumental Music Program. The range of instruments offered include:

Woodwind:

  • Flute, Oboe, Clarinet, Alto Saxophone, Tenor Saxophone, Baritone Saxophone

Brass:

  • Trumpet, French Horn, Trombone, Euphonium, Tuba

Strings:

  • Violin, Viola, Cello, Double Bass

Rhythm:

  • Drums, Guitar, Bass Guitar, Piano, Vocals

 

Our 11 specialist Instrumental Music Staff are:

There are a number of ensembles at the College. These include:

  • Concert Band
  • Stage Band
  • String Ensemble
  • Woodwind Ensemble
  • Guitar Ensemble
  • Percussion Ensemble
  • Tour Ensemble

 


 

 

The College conducts music tours on a rotating basis: International, Interstate and Local.

  • International – Pacific Basin Music Festival in Honolulu, Hawai’i
  • Interstate – Queensland Catholic Schools Music Festival in Brisbane, Queensland
  • Local – A tour with our ensembles within the state of Victoria.

The Year 7 Classroom Music curriculum sees all students learning an instrument for a semester on any of the listed instruments above for no extra cost. The students learn how to play their instrument and be a part of a large ensemble. A number of the students choose to continue their instruments past the semester and enjoy being part of our Instrumental Music Program.
