Art and Technology Show at Expo Night
A fantastic exhibition of high quality work was put on display from all Year levels, across both the Visual Arts Department, consisting of works from Art, Digital Photography, Media Studies and Visual Communication Design, and also from the Design Department, from Systems and Engineering, Product Design and Technology, CGI and Games Creation.
My heart-felt thanks goes out in particular to the staff in the Visual Arts Department, who have dedicated their time and expertise with these students, to produce such high quality work throughout the year, and also in assisting with putting up the show. I would also like to mention both Department’s technicians Malcolm Lloyd and David Davenport for their long hours and assistance, who have been working hard behind the scenes to put the Expo together, together with the IT department and the maintenance department. Finally I would like to thank Carmel O’Connor for her inspiring speech and her gift to the College; her artwork, which was a Flanagan and Silk Cut prize winner.
This exhibition is also an important opportunity to select works for entry into the ACC Art and Technology exhibition for 2015, as well as the Catholic Week Art Exhibition for 2015. Preparations are underway for the selection process for both of these exhibitions, which gives the boys and their artwork exposure beyond the College. Good luck to all of the boys who have undergone the submission process so far.
