Camp Reflection

On Wednesday 7 August the Year 8 cohort along with numerous teachers headed out on their 3 day camping-retreating adventure to Phillip Island. The students were filled with excitement for the three days which lay ahead. Unfortunately the sun rarely came out to shine during the camp, however this didn’t stop the Year 8’s from enjoying the many activities they were involved in. The boys participated in retreat activities as well as the adventurous GIANT swing, flying fox, the giant slide, frisbee golf and high ropes. Hear the boys’ reflections below:

Last week on camp, students and staff went to Adventure Resort, in Phillip Island and participated in many exciting and exhilarating activities such as the “Giant Swing” where they levitated us up 18m off the ground. This took all of us to a different comfort zone but with courage and bravery we were able to achieve going to the top. They also took us to “A Maze ‘N Things” where we all experienced a whole new world of wonder and awe, excitement and magical optical illusions. It featured the Mirror maze, Giant Drop and the Anti-Gravity room and while we waited for the exciting activities, we played in the Puzzle Room.

Last week on camp, students and staff had a wonderful time. We arrived at school on the first day nice and early so we could get on the bus and head off. Finally, we arrived at camp and were able to settle in to our cabin and then get straight into the activities. Despite the nerves, the giant swing was definitely the highlight.
