On Monday 13 May, the Salesian College debaters were out in force to uphold that winning feeling. The competition was quite different this time, with a secret topic. This entitled our debaters only one hour before the debate to organise their speeches. This round was a tough one but all of the boys did an excellent job to uphold the Salesian spirit throughout their debates. Unfortunately some of the results did not go our way. The year 12’s were the only team to continue their winning streak and triumph over their opponents in a nail bitting one point win. The year 11’s suffered their first loss of the tournament going down to worthy opponents by 2 points. Despite this result, the boys should be very proud of their achievements. The year 9s and 10s also lost in a close contest, going down by one point in a strong performance. The future looks bright for the rest of the tournament for all our debating teams, with one round to go before the finals.
