Donations Gratefully Received in Timor

The chairs donated by Sebel Furniture in 2014 went to Timor Leste, to the new Don Bosco Co-educational Technical School at Maliana (near the West Timor border).

The school, owned by the Government, is managed and run by the Salesians. It is the first school of its type in the country and the only Don Bosco school west of Dili. The school offers a three-year Diploma course. The school has boarding facilities; all students live on campus.

The chairs donated by Sebel Furniture are used in the classrooms; they have been welcomed by the School. At weekends the school facilities are used by outside groups including local children for remedial education classes; the chairs are used by these youngsters.

Br Marcal Lopes, Principal of Don Bosco School Maliana, said:  “We are most grateful to have received these chairs.  They are strong and sturdy.  And it is easy to keep them clean.  Please convey our thanks to Sebel Furniture.”
