Duke of Edinburgh Hiking Trip
Last Thursday 16 November, 20 boys and 4 teachers set out for a hiking trip to Wilsons Prom.
After some bus complications we finally arrived at the Prom around 2:00pm, meaning we were going to have to make good time to set up camp and cook dinner before dark.
Fortunately, the boys demonstrated great determination and grit to make up some of the time lost earlier in the day, which enabled them to set up camp and cook before the sun set.
Day 2 was a more relaxed hike out of camp, with much more time to enjoy the magnificent scenery that Wilsons Prom has to offer. However, despite it being slightly more relaxed, the boys once again demonstrated great resilience whilst hiking out of camp with their 15kg + backpacks.
While we once again had some more bus problems on the way home, the boys were well behaved and as patient as could be expected while waiting for the RACV.
After 2 days of hiking and a couple of bus complications along the way, we finally arrived back at school around 6:30pm on Friday evening.
I would like thank Mr Kim Beurs, Mr Tim Cox and Mr Domenic Scarpino for attending the camp. Finally, I would like to thank the boys for all of their effort in helping prepare and run the camp. You should all be extremely proud of what you have achieved. Well done!
