Community Week Walkathon
Community Week is an important celebration in the Salesian College school year. This year, a Walkathon has been organised through the local streets of Chadstone, Mount Waverley and along Scotchman’s creek trail. Not only is this an opportunity to celebrate Salesian College Chadstone as a diverse and unique community, but to also raise money for our Salesian community worldwide.
This compulsory walkathon will take place during Community Week on Wednesday 7 September between approximately 1:30 and 3:15pm. Boys will be accompanied by teachers throughout the walk and there will be teachers allocated to checkpoints along the track.
Boys are encouraged to bring a water bottle and asthma puff on the walk, if required.
Each student is encouraged to raise $50, which will go directly towards the Salesian missions, in particular our brothers and sisters in Samoa, where education and technical training is a luxury, not a right for many impoverished families.
Receipts for donations can be requested on the donation sheet. This is our major fundraiser this term.
Please return the slip on the letter given to students last week which acknowledges that you have received this notification, along with his walkathon donation by Friday 2nd September.
