Key Points from the Year 8-12 Parent Information Evening
On Tuesday Night we had our Year 8-12 Information Night, some of the points discussed are below:
PAM – Medical Details
A reminder to parents that medical details for students are now to be completed in PAM. We are asking they are completed before Friday 23 February. Instructions can be found here: Instructions
PAM – Behaviour Tracking
You are able to see a count of Behaviour Tracking data through PAM. Parents are only able to see a count but if you would like to find out more information, of course talk to your son and follow up with his Oratory teacher for more information.
We are planning a major upgrade to our facilities which will result in a new Student Services area. The building works are planned to start in May and continue for 12 months. This will of course result in some interruption to the normal workings of the school (location of Reception etc.). More details on this will be provided in the coming weeks.
The College will be introducing a minimum standard that boys will need to reach for their work requirements. The benchmark is likely to be set at 65%. Boys who receive less than this mark for their work requirement will be asked to re-do part (or all) of the task if the teacher believes the low result was due to lack of effort. The details will be finalised this week and information relayed to students and families in due course.
You can download a copy of the PowerPoint presentation given at the start of the night here.
Year 7 Information and Social Night
A reminder for Year 7 parents that the Year 7 Information and Social night is coming up next week on Wednesday 21 February, more details on this will be sent to the relevant parents.
House Athletics Carnival
The House Athletics Carnival is also coming up next week on Tuesday 20 February. Boys come to the school at the usual time in their sports uniform. They will be bussed to the venue (Bill Sewart Athletics Track – Burwood East) and brought back to school for dismissal at the usual time for Tuesdays of 3:15pm. Boys should be reminded that the weather may be warm on that day so sun smart precautions should be observed.
