Legacy Public Speaking Award 2015

On 16 July three junior Salesian College Chadstone students travelled into the city to compete in the Legacy Public Speaking Award which is run in cooperation with the Victorian Department of education and Early Childhood Development.
I was very proud of the three young men who spoke on the ideas of Legacy – Matthew Juma, Sam Loiacono and Christopher Nielsen.

All three boys were wonderful ambassadors for the College; they presented themselves well and spoke clearly and articulately. Each of them was commended by the judges on the maturity of their speeches and the manner in which they conducted themselves. The comment was made that they were a credit to themselves, the College and their parents.

The boys competed against four girls from Lowther Hall, one of whom was the eventual winner. The boys gained a great deal from the experience; I am sure that the calibre of their speeches and delivery will have benefitted enormously from the competition.
