Successful Compliance

Recently the College conducted an evacuation exercise at the Bosco campus on Thursday 24 April 2014 which involved all staff and students.
All staff and students were evacuated onto the Bosco oval. Staff that were not teaching were instructed to proceed to the Emergency Control Point and were issued with Warden Identification. Wardens were then instructed to check all buildings, rooms and man the entry/exit points.

The whole exercise was completed without incident or injury. All the students followed their teacher’s instructions and to their credit did so in a calm and timely manner. Well done boys.
Mannix campus conducted a lockdown exercise on Thursday 1 May at 11:45am. In this exercise staff and students were advised that due to smoke from an accident on the Monash freeway all staff and students were to remain in their classes, turn off air conditioning systems and close all windows and doors. Any available staff were then instructed to proceed to the Emergency Control Point and were issued with Warden Identification. They were then instructed to check the perimeter of the campus for any staff and students and bring them inside the Mannix building as well as secure all exit doors. Once this exercise was completed the all clear from the chief warden was given and classes resumed.

The college has now successfully complied with the annual maintenance requirements of Australian Standard AS3745 – planning for emergencies in facilities.
