Opportunities with the Salesian College Instrumental Music Program

Various Intelligence Theories developed and adopted over the past 30 years have suggested that every person is born with a degree of Musical Intelligence. As Salesian College, music is considered to be an important aspect in the holistic education of young men. The College prides itself on offering a range of musical experiences that cater for the absolute beginner, through to the seasonal performers with professional ambitions.

While at Salesian College, your son will have the following opportunities:

  • Learn a band instrument as part of the Year 7 Instrumental Music program (Compulsory)
  • Undertake private music lessons on most common Wind, Brass & Percussion
  • Take part in a range of bands and ensembles including Concert Bands & Stage Bands
  • Perform in a range of concerts, both on-campus and in some of Australia‚Äôs leading venues
  • Represent Salesian College at state and national music competitions, festivals, music camps & music tours
  • Undertake tuition in AMEB graded courses and undertake external music examinations.
  • Qualify for Salesian Awards through participating in Music
