While Term 4 is often seen gearing up towards exams before a long summer break, our College musicians are busy doing what they do best.
October 7 was our 11th Annual Cabaret Evening, with staff, students, past students and families all performing in the College Hall to an enthusiastic audience.
Saturday October 22 saw our Stage Band perform at Holy Family Primary School in Mount Waverley as part of their fete; a huge thank you to Mr Daimon Brunton for making himself available for this performance. On Saturday November 5, some smaller ensembles will be playing at Mary Magdalen Primary School’s fete between 1:00pm and 2:30pm in their hall. The week after that sees our Concert Band go on the road to perform at Holy Eucharist Primary School in Malvern East and also at Holy Family in Mount Waverley.
It is a credit to all the students involved that they make themselves available for these gigs, as well as keeping up with their studies at a very busy time of year.
We finish November with our Spring Concert, which this year is starting at 6pm and includes a Silent Auction. Performances on stage will commence at 6:30pm and include our first ever Year 7 Strings Ensemble as well as our Concert Band, Stage Band and other smaller ensembles. It is also the inaugural performance of our talented bunch of musicians who are off to perform in Hawaii (yes, Hawaii), in 2017.
See you there!
Mr Adam Croft
Head of Performance
