Premiers’ Reading Challenge 2015
The Premiers’ Reading Challenge has again been offered to all boys in years 7 & 8. Information and consent forms have been sent by email to all parents and guardians. Your son is able to collect a printed from the Rua Resource Centre if you are unable to print a copy.
This is a wonderful opportunity for students, parents, guardians and teachers to all be involved in the joy of reading!
Some of the feedback from 2014 was that the boys enjoyed seeing the reading list grow and interacting with the PRC website to discover and star-rate books – all this and a personalised video and online certificate at the end! The students are able to read at their own individual levels – there is no prescriptive age level for their reading.
“Reading plays a critical role in literacy development and future educational success. It expands our minds and inspires us to discover the exciting new adventures waiting among the pages of a good book”.
The Hon Daniel Andrews MP, Premier of Victoria (Opening Address for The Premiers’ Reading Challenge, 2015)
