Reaching Out In Support

One of the workshops at the recent Oz-Bosco Youth gathering at Salesian College, focused on the Calgiero Project. Volunteers commit to 6 months or one year as Cagliero Missionaries working in a Salesian Community caring for needy young people. One of those Volunteers presently in Cambodia, working as a teacher of orphans and young people seeking training in order to get employment, has asked for some Study Planners and any helpful guidelines that are used in Salesian schools in Australia. Salesian College has donated study planners and these are on their way to Cambodia. Easy-to-provide resources like these Planners can be of significant help to volunteers endeavouring to make a difference in the lives of needy young people.

A recent past student from Salesian College, Declan Crowe, is currently working as a Cagliero Missionary in Salelologa, Samoa. Keeping in touch with the volunteers while out on placement and providing support is essential. News from ‘home’ and interest in their work is a great source of comfort and encouragement. Salesian College is proud to be associated with the Cagliero Project.
