Salesian Kid Program
16 years since he graduated, past pupil Mr Andrew Sambrooks re-visited his memories of Salesian College Chadstone as he accompanied his students from St Francis De Sales Primary School for a day of exciting science experiments, Technology creations and sports games. This visit was part of our Salesian Kid Program, where students from local primary schools visit Salesian College Chadstone.
What is the Salesian Kid Program?
Salesian College Chadstone understands that the first day for a Year 7 can be daunting. Research shows that being familiar with a new environment not only eliminates stress for children, but also fosters learning.
Our Salesian Kid Program has been designed to introduce Primary School students to the Secondary School environment; ultimately building their confidence and familiarity with life as a Secondary School student.
What does the program involve?
Students from local Primary Schools experience:
• A science class in a
cutting-edge 21st Century learning, brand new Science Laboratory with microscopes and scientific measurement tools
• A tailored Technology class
• Recess together with our Tour Guides; and
• Sport in our Kimberley Hall, as experienced by every secondary school student
Our Salesian Kid Program assists with environment familiarity and the transition to the Secondary School environment – helping families make the secondary school decision that is right for them.
