Sport Update

Senior Tennis

Another home game for the boys at Chadstone Tennis Club against Parade was the venue where our boys confidence would continue to grow.

In a close game with Parade, our boys happened to finish strong to win 7 Sets 73 Games to Parades 5 Sets 66 Games.

This is two wins in a row, unfortunately the tie against Simonds was washed out the following week.

Senior Volleyball v Parade

Volleyball was played in the College Hall last week against Parade College.

The Volleyball A team was up first and were outplayed by a Parade Side with a height advantage.

The score was Parade - 3 Sets 75 Points Def. Salesian – 0 Sets 54 Points.

The Volleyball B Team let their lead slip which led to a loss.

The scores were Parade 3 Sets 101 Points Def. Salesian 2 Sets 103 Points

Senior Volleyball v Simonds

Volleyball A & B played off against Simonds in their weekly fixture.

The A team won their first game of the season ending a two game slump.

The B team were right back on top of things as they won again giving them two wins in three games.

Senior Cricket

Salesian hosted St Bernard’s College at Essex Heights Reserve for their second round match.

St Bernard’s went in to bat first and delivered the total of 147 runs to be chased down.

Great bowling from Sacheen Paramesh and a spectacular run out from Yianni Billias held the visitors to under 150 runs.

We went in to bat confident of chasing down the total.

Nathan Antonucci and Yianni Billias opened the batting.

The boys batted out the day well with Joel Carter making 30 and Yianni Billias making 37.

We were unlucky needing a four off the final ball to draw the game but unfortunately we fell short and finished with 143 runs.

Boys fought hard to the end, unfortunately the match against Mazenod was washed out the following week.
