Sports Report

ACC for term 3 has begun with three sports on offer for the term: Table Tennis, Hockey and Basketball.

Hockey Results

Junior

Year 8’s played their first game of the term last week against St Bernard’s and lost 3-2 on the siren. An unfortunate result but a strong performance by the boys.
Year 7’s are yet to play their first game of the season and are looking to begin this week.

Intermediate

Year 9’s have played three games and won, drawn and lost in that order. The boys are currently sitting 4th on the ladder and will continue their strong form.
Year 10’s are sitting equal first on the ladder as they are undefeated in their first three games against St Bede’s and Parade College. The boys have won their games comfortably and are looking to increase their winning form next week.

Senior

The Seniors are also undefeated this season having played in a draw and two wins in their first three games.
We are currently behind the strong St Bernard’s who have put in dominant performances, scoring 30 goals in the first 3 games. We are set to play them in two weeks’ time after next week’s match against Parade.

Basketball Results

Junior

Year 8A started their season with a huge win over Simonds and unfortunately lost their second game against St Bernard’s.
Year 8B have unfortunately lost their first two games, but very positive signs have been seen within the side.
Year 7’s are yet to play their first game of the season and are looking to begin this week.

Intermediate

Year 9 A & B’s have been very unfortunate in their first three games coming away with three losses.
10 A’s have won one game and lost two games to begin their season. A loss of a few players due to injury has affected the sides line-ups but the boys have made great adjustments.
10 B’s have also won one game and lost two.
There is still plenty of time left for these sides to get some more wins on the board.

Senior

Senior A’s have lost their first three games of the season but came within four points of their first win this week.
A great performance displayed but unlucky not to get the result.
Senior B’s had their first win of the season by five points.

Table Tennis Results

Junior

Year 8 Table Tennis has played two matches this term and have played two strong schools to start the season. The boys have been playing exceptional and have been unlucky to get a win.
Year 7’s are yet to play their first game of the season and are looking to begin this week.

Intermediate

Year 9 have played three matches this season and has also had no luck going down in its first three encounters.
Year 10’s have played three matches also and won two out of the three.

Seniors

The Seniors have lost their first three games but were very unfortunate the last two weeks to lose by the smallest of margins.
This means the boys are continuing to improve each week.

Good luck for the coming weeks to all the boys and coaches participating in ACC matches.

World Karate Youth Cup

Our Very own Dean Dritsas in Year 10 represented Australia at the 8th World Karate Federation Karate1 Youth Cup in Umag, Croatia over the school holidays.

There were a total of 32 countries competing at this tournament. Dean fought hard and came away with a Bronze Medal for Australia.

The College and Dritsas family are all very proud of him and his achievement. His determination, hard work and dedication for the sport he loves has paid off.
