Senior Cricket Played Whitefriars in their rescheduled fixture. The boys went in to bat first, setting a target of 136-8. This was due to some great batting displays on behalf of Nathan Antonucci, Joel Cramer and Sacheen Paramesh. The boys were able to bowl Whitefriars out for 97 runs thanks to great team bowling and three handy wickets from Yianni Billias.

ACC Sport Wednesday 24 February

The Volleyball A & B team had to back up their Monday game with another one on the Wednesday. Both the A & B sides were very unfortunate both going down against Whitefriars.

Whitefriars hosted our boys at Currawong Tennis Club for one of the closest matches of the season. Having played really well in the singles, it was down to the doubles to decide which team would win the match. Devastatingly our boys lost- Whitefriars 7 Sets 69 Games Def. Salesian 5 Sets 68 Games. The tennis team is currently4th on the ladder, two points behind 1st.

Just like the volleyball team, our cricketers had to back up their Monday game with another for the week. This time we faced De La Salle College. Our boys went in to bat first and immediately found it hard to make runs. The pitch gave a lot to bowlers and that is what we didn’t want. De La Salle bowled us out for 42 runs. De La Salle made the target within 12 overs and unfortunately we took another loss.

Volleyball A & B were away at De La Salle this week. With both sides coming off a loss they will looking to find good form. There was no disappointment as both teams won their matches.

The Volleyball A score: Salesian 3 Sets 100 Points Def. De La Salle 1 Set 94 Points.

The Volleyball B score: Salesian 3 Sets 96 Points Def. De La Salle 1 Set 80 Points.

That concludes the season for the Volleyball a team, as for the B team they will play in the Semi Finals next week. Thanks to all the boys and staff that participated and good luck to the B team next week.

The Tennis team also played away against Whitefriars this week. The great form from the team continued as they got another major win for the College. The Tennis score: Salesian 8 Sets 75 Games Def. De La Salle 4 Sets 67 Games. Our Tennis team will be playing in their semi-final next week. We wish them all the best.

The Cricket team travelled out to Bundoora to play against Parade College for this week’s fixture. The team has struggled in the past few weeks but found form this week by setting a great total of 145 runs in the first innings. Great batting from Yianni Billias 23runs, Joel Cramer 20 runs & Sacheen Paramesh 42 runs help set up such a great total. The great batting was followed up by outstanding bowling by the boys. Three wickets to Liam La’Brooy and 2 wickets to Josh Knight helped to control the innings. Parade were bowled out for 103 giving us the victory. The team will travel to Geelong next week to face St Joseph’s Geelong. We wish them all the best.
