VCAL Students Going For Gold!

On Monday 17 and Tuesday 18 February the VCAL students participated in a two day camp at Walhalla, in Gippsland. The aim of the camp was to experience ‘hands on’ learning, using the wonderful natural resources of this historic gold-mining ghost town. The camp met outcomes of VCAL Literacy, Numeracy and Personal Development units. Activities included a study of the history of the town, tour of the Long Tunnel Mine, a 10 Km canoe on the Thomson River, camping in tents along the Thomson River and cooking meals on the campfire!

VCAL programs aim at developing individual and group responsibility, teamwork, self-confidence and resilience.
