Year 12 Formal
On the evening of Thursday 15 June, our Salesian College Year 12 cohort celebrated their Formal in style. The Merrimu Receptions centre was decked out in our chosen theme of black and gold. This spectacle was matched only by the standard of dress on the night. As the Year 12 Coordinator for the 2017 cohort, I could not be more proud of the way that our boys conducted themselves at this prestigious event. There were some surprise award recipients on the night who will be remembered for years, including ‘Best Dressed Male’ going to George Koltsidas, ‘Best Dancer’ going to Cristian Martinelli (Josh Chhen was robbed!) and Ms Debbie Rabot being awarded ‘Best Dressed Female Teacher’. But the most impressive award goes to Mr Thomas Dexter, who has finally replaced Mr Mark Wang as ‘Best Dressed Male Teacher’!
A big thank you to the Formal Committee for all their assistance, to Mr Terry Cristiano, Miss Leah Karam, Mrs Michelle Collins and Mrs Rhea Beurs for their help in organising the night, and to
Ms Carolyn Ellul for taking photos for us. Above all, a massive thank you goes to our College Vice-Captain, Peter Pamouktsis for doing such a brilliant job as MC.
I sincerely hope that all our boys had a night to remember at their Year 12 Formal, and created memories to take away with them once they graduate at the end of the year. With Semester One drawing to a close, Unit 4 beginning, and the College Formal now behind us, it is a sign of that we are gearing up for the most crucial time in a Year 12’s academic life. I wish them all the best for their Unit 4 studies, and know that they will continue to do us proud.
Mr Kim Beurs
