Year 7 Mother/Son Night

Thursday May 12,2016

Calling all mums!

You may be aware that in Year 8 last year we ran our inaugural Father-Son night where under the expert guidance of facilitator Bill Jennings we endeavoured to create opportunities for Father/Mentors/Guardians to engage meaningfully with their sons about life, growing up and the things that really matter. The feedback from the program was particularly positive. We will continue to run this in 2016

We are delighted to be able to offer a similar opportunity for Year 7 boys and their Mum/Mentors/Guardians. Transition into secondary school is a significant milestone for all young people, but coming into an all-boys environment may make many mums who have previously been very involved in their son’s education at primary school feel unsure about where they fit.

At Salesian we are keen to create an opportunity for a meaningful conversation between sons and their mothers, mentors or guardians that allows for a better understanding of what this important transition in life is like for both adults and boys.

Having witnessed this program in other schools I can guarantee you that it’s a special night and one that as a mother, mentor or guardian to your boy you will not want to miss out on.

You can sign up for this night on our website and any questions you may have should be directed to Year 7 Coordinator Byron Chen or myself.
