Year 7 Social Night Report 2013
Last Thursday 7 March on a hot “summer-like” evening, the 2013 Year 7 parents were invited to attend the annual Year 7 Social Evening.
The night began with all parents gathering in their son’s homeroom and spending about half an hour in the homerooms, meeting their son’s homeroom teacher, sitting at their son’s desk and having the chance to see the classroom from their point of view.
Everyone then gathered in the hall and I was able to share some reflections from the current Year Students, this was followed by a video of the Year 7’s experiences to date. Delicious nibbles and drinks were provided by the Parents Association and entertainment by the year 10 band “Mannix Depression” and Mr Adam Croft (Director of Performing Arts).
The parents also had a chance to socialise with each other and staff members. As Year 7 Coordinator and Homeroom Mentor, it was really nice to hear how well the Year 7 Students have settled in this year.
A big thankyou to Mary Menz, Suzie McErvale, the homeroom mentors and the Parents Association for all their help in organising this fantastic evening.
