Year 8 ACC Excursion

On Tuesday 30 April, Year 8 students ventured into the city for an excursion run by the Design Department. Their main objective was to visit the inaugural ACC Art and Technology exhibition which was held in the Yarra Gallery at Federation Square. All of the ACC schools were represented, from 7 to 12, in this exhibition each displaying 20 of their best works from 2012. Vasili Thomopoulos, from year 8, was one of the students chosen to represent Salesian College.
Due to the large cohort at Year 8, students were separated into three groups and participated in three activities in which they rotated through. Each group also visited and had a guided tour of ACCA (Australian Centre for Contemporary Art) and completed a drawing exercise along the banks of the Yarra River. We were blessed with a beautiful day which added to the enjoyment of the excursion.
