Year 9 Media Crew Excursion
On Friday 28 July the Year 9 Media Crew Challenge elective visited the Student Youth Network (SYN FM Radio), which is part of RMIT in Melbourne’s CBD, for a professional Radio station learning experience.
The boys listened to Anita from SYN, who showed the group the format and structure of a radio segment and how it is constructed. After listening to a few examples, the boys formed groups and came up with their own segments to record.
Topics such as, ‘Would you Rather?’, ‘Modern Games vs. Old School Games’, and ‘What Makes You Triggered?’ were recorded by the boys in the RMIT Radio Studios. Special mention goes to Lucas Axford who was the Sound Board controller. Lucas had the important job of controlling everyone’s microphones and playing music between segments.
The boys now return to their Media class with radio skills, ready to spend the rest of the semester focussing on television broadcasting.
