Year 9 Retreat
The Year 9 Retreat, 2016 focussed on the theme ‘Me, Myself and I’. It has provided an opportunity for students to better understand themselves and their relationship with others, including God. The day was held at Auxilium College, Lysterfield; which is the Salesian Retreat centre.
The day also covered topics and activities connected to the program ‘The Rite Journey’ which the Year 9 boys are currently engaged in. This program allows leaders to reflect and mentor the students on their journey from childhood to manhood.
A highlight of the day was the journey (walk) up the hill which was a ceremony in itself. Once at the top, the Rite journey teachers lead the boys in a reflection moment about journey and in particular how far each and every one of them had come so far. It has been described as ‘a moment to remember’ by many of the boys.
